After your early morning breakfast, a driver from adventure in the wild safaris will pick you from Gisenyi town one of the largest towns on the shores of lake Kivu and drive to Virunga national park. You will be taken to the park headquarters for registration and briefing about the Nyiragongo hiking. You will meet other hikers and then start the hiking from Kibati ranger post at an altitude of 1870m above the sea level. As you start trekking the lower slopes are full of lush green rain forest that are habitants to mammals, primate and a variety of birds. As you continue to go upwards you will realize that there is less vegetation. The trekking will take about 5 to 6hours depending on the hikers’ speed and physical fitness. At the top you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the boiling magma from the crusted lava and take some photographs. Overnight at the crater.

In the morning after having your breakfast prepared by the porters, you will start to slop from the top to the bottom of the Volcano having wonderful views of the landscape which will take few hours compared to ascending. Our driver will then pick you up and travel to Kigali and you can have a city tour then continue to Kigali international airport for your flight.
